Thanks for visiting our website.  We have much information for about La Grande Real Estate and the surrounding communities.  La Grande is progressive community and is home to Eastern Oregon University.  La Grande is also home to the county seat for Union County.  Union County has eight cities in the County, these include La Grande, Island City, Union, Cove, Elgin, Imbler, Summerville and North Powder.  There is a high school in each community execpt Summerville and Island City.  Island City is part of the La Grande High School system.  Union County has about half of the land base is in public ownership. Most of the public land is owned by the US Forest Service.  There is a small about of land owned by BLM and the state of Oregon.  People who live in Northeast Oregon enjoy the easy access to the public lands for recreation uses, including hunting, fishing, cross country sking, snowmobiling, mountain biking and watching the wildlife.
